Register for Classes

Welcome to Clackamas Community College! Whether you're a new student or returning student, we're pleased you've chosen to be a part of the CCC academic community.

The resources on this page and the Registration and Records Department at CCC are here to help you:

Are you ready to register for classes at CCC?

New students

If you are registering for classes to earn college credit, first make sure you've completed your getting started steps. If you've taken these steps, congratulations! You are ready to register for your classes.

If you want to register for non-credit classes for fun or personal enrichment, you can skip these steps.

For most credit classes, you can register yourself online in Self Service in myClackamas. For instructions on how to register for classes in myClackamas, see the videos and guides on the Advising webpage. You can also schedule an appointment with an advisor from this page.

Returning students

Welcome back! If you've taken a break from college and are returning to CCC, you'll need to log in to myClackamas to register. If you've forgotten your myClackamas login information, please email registration@clackamas.edu with your name and date of birth.

Learn how to register and get help

Academic advisors are available to help new and returning students.

For most credit classes, you can register yourself online via Student Planning in myClackamas. This is the preferred method of registration. For instructions on how to register for classes via Student Planning, see the videos and/or PDF instructions on the Advising webpage here: www.clackamas.edu/advising.

In some cases, you will be unable to register yourself for a class online, usually due to special permissions being required. Registration requests can also be submitted directly to Registration and Records via online form or email. The online Registration Request form can be found here: www.clackamas.edu/forms. Emailed registration requests can be sent to registration@clackamas.edu and must include the following information:

For information about registering for specific programs or non-credit classes, you should contact the department offering the program/class.

If it has been more than two years since you last applied or enrolled at CCC, submit a new admissions application. If you have applied or enrolled within the last two years, contact Registration and Records. Note that if you are a CCC employee and need help accessing your CCC email or online student records, you should contact Human Resources.

If you're having trouble logging into myClackamas, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to my.clackamas.edu
  2. Still not working? Contact Registration and Records.
  3. Still not working? Contact IT Services for assistance.

For any further issues, view our Logging into myClackamas guide.

It is possible for you to take a class for which you have not met the prerequisites, but it will require instructor consent (see the previous question about instructor consent for more information). Note that some courses have required prerequisites, while other courses have recommended prerequisites. You may register for courses that have recommended prerequisites without instructor consent.

If you have met the prerequisites at another school and have not had your official transcripts evaluated by CCC, you can obtain a requisite waiver from Advising by filling out a Prerequisite Wavier Request form.

Instructor consent, also known as a student petition, is required for courses that have already started and/or that require instructor permission to register (for example, individual music lessons). You can obtain instructor consent in the following ways:

1. Self-Service

2. Email

3. Registration Request Form

You may still register for a class that has already started, but it will require instructor consent to do so (see the previous question about instructor consent). You should consider whether starting a class late will set you up for success, and may wish to consult with an academic advisor about this.

The deadline to drop a class for a refund depends on the length of the class.

If you miss the deadline to drop for a refund, you can still withdraw from the class for a Withdrawal grade (but no refund) within the first eight weeks of the term. After the deadline to drop for a refund has passed, you must submit a Refund Policy Petition to request a refund. The form can be found here: www.clackamas.edu/forms.

The deadline to withdraw from a class is by the end of the eighth week of the term. At this point, you will not receive a refund, and the course will appear with a Withdrawal (W) grade on your transcript. A "W" grade does not affect your GPA, but it may affect financial aid or other sources of funding. You cannot withdraw yourself from a class after the eighth week of the term. Your option at that point is to contact your instructor to request a "W" grade.

Lifelong learners age 65 or older can audit up to eight credits tuition-free (fees still apply) if space is available. Just complete the Senior Tuition Waiver and Course Audit Form and return it to Registration and Records.

For information about grading options, changing a grade and drop deadlines, see the guide below.
